L’Université Paris Cité a découvert qu’une société d’enseignement privé initialement dénommée Intelligest avait récemment adopté la dénomination « City University of Paris » pour proposer des services d’enseignement supérieur à distance. L’Université Paris Cité rappelle qu’elle n’a aucun lien, de quelque nature que ce soit (association, partenariat, agrément, filiation…) avec cette société de droit privé. Elle a immédiatement pris attache avec cette dernière afin de mettre un terme à tout risque de confusion. La société Intelligest devenue European City University reconnaît le bien-fondé de cette réclamation et s’engage en conséquence (i) à modifier sa dénomination et (ii) à cesser toute utilisation de la dénomination « City University of Paris ». L’Université Paris Cité rappelle qu’elle est un établissement public à caractère scientifique, culturel et professionnel. No relationship between Université Paris Cité and the private company operating under the name City University of Paris. Université Paris Cité discovered that a private higher education establishment initially called Intelligest has recently changed its company name for ‘City University of Paris’. Université Paris Cité points out that it has no links whatsoever (association, partnership, approval, affiliation…) with this private company. Université Paris Cité immediately contacted this company to put an end to any likelihood of confusion. The company Intelligest now named European City University acknowledges the merits of this claim and consequently undertakes (i) to change its name and (ii) to cease all use of the name ‘City University of Paris’. The decision to rebrand as European City University comes after extensive consultation with stakeholders, including current students, faculty, alumni, partners, and the broader community. The name change is a strategic move to align with the university’s long-term vision, enhance its global competitiveness, and better represent its expanded academic offerings, institutional growth, and European-centric mission.
This rebranding initiative does not alter the university’s commitment to academic excellence, student success, or its foundational values. The name change is a natural progression of our growth and ambition, and it will not impact the quality of education, the validity of degrees, or the experiences of current and prospective students. We have prepared Frequently-Asked-Questions (FAQ) which will be launched together with our new revised website to address probable concerns from stakeholders and students.
